President Obama and the United States Deserve the Nobel Peace Prize!
Congratulations President Obama!

On one hand, the purpose of this essay is to clarify does the United States needs more realistic and intensive multilateral diplomacy as President Obama with his top official staff is doing over past nine months, where as a result of this a new strategic doctrine was awarded with Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian Nobel Committee on October 9, 2009 in Oslo capital city of Norway. On the other hand, to increase understanding of the changing contours of world by peaceful and multilateral dialogue within international system and its institutions such is the United Nations and international law.
Seeing in this view only it is possible to understand rightly and reasonably why President Obama-America was laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian Nobel Committee. Actually, this is a main point of our analyze.

- When Obama speaks out, all of the world listening his voice with admirable and gratification. Why? Because everybody believe him that he’s the right statesman who’s willing to make a new realistic, multilateral and peaceful world order.
This my essay I would commence with this very popular wisdom dictum in my Albanian nation: “A beautiful morning, a beautiful day”!
What does mean this in the political and diplomatic context of our explanation ? – Very simple, in a word, even if the President Obama got at White House only nine months ago, there’s no doubt that he for the short (didn’t wait for eight years, and at the end doing nothing helpful for the American national and state interests) showed his high and rational political qualities to get back on normal, reasonable, pragmatic and acceptable track fragile economy, a high rate of unemployment, changing of the health care reform, and deep improvement of the United States’ diplomatic image in all of the world.
These ideas, agendas and projects of the priority objectives of common and vital interests to the United States (inside and abroad) already have become known during past nine months to Obama the first presidential term.
This is a new era for national interest and international political doctrine and strategy of the United States which now become very clear to everybody inside and outside of America which wants to be much more cooperative, credible, respectful, acceptable, successful and peaceful than before during George W. Bush era (2001-2009).

Within this a new realistic and pragmatic strategy, during the past nine months of the Obama’s presidential term, have been discussed the following crucial international problems such as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea, climate changing etc.
To understand and clarify the essence of the right reasons and motives why the United States President Barak Obama deserves, and was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian Nobel Committee on 9 October 2009, we can say that its easy and hard to drive right conclusion.
On one hand, it’s entire easy for people who really are able to understand what does mean peace, democracy, stability, mutual cooperation, dialogue, prosperity and understanding between nations and states all of the world. But, on the other hand it’s very difficult for that kind of people who aren’t without sufficient acknowledge to understand significance of mutual support, respect, cooperation and peace in and abroad. Also, is very hard to understand and explain the content of peace as an universal value of the international state system by that kind of hardliner politicians who don’t want, and aren’t willing to make peace and dialogue with other nations and countries according to international law rules and principles that i.e. dealing only within legal and acceptable institutions for all nations and countries apart from their interior political and social order, as an international juridical subjects.

Why President Obama got Nobel Peace Prize?

To be clear, why the Norwegian Nobel Committee was decided to aware the United States President Barak Obama with Nobel Peace Prize , is better to cit the official statement of the Committee Chairman Thorbjoern Jagland who said: “The Nobel Committee lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama’s calls for peace and cooperation but recognized initiatives such as reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” Jagland said. Obama’s election and foreign policy moves caused a dramatic improvement in the image of the U.S. around the world. ”[1]

The decision to honor Obama was unanimous by Nobel Peace Prize Committee five members who justified as a right and in favor of peace and cooperation between nations within international institutions such as the United Nations state system and multilateral diplomacy.

Also, “The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that ‘Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.” [2]
This international Nobel Peace Prize to the president Barak Obama came on the right time which I understand a great award not only for Obama, but also, and for the United States, even if the president Obama was surprised awarding Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian Nobel Committee, saying that: “ I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize-men and women who’ve inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.”[3]

Regardless of this rational and balanced official statement by the United States president Barak Obama addressed to public opinion, the Nobel Peace Price as a bright sign and extraordinery merit came on right laureate hands and place-United Sates which still is accounted , trusted and respect as a great and main World leader in resolving international crucial issues in the sens of the multilateral international diplomacy with its world partners.

Nolens volens Obama’s wining Nobel Peace Prize should understand and take into account not only as an individual, but entire as the United States merit which understood right and justified explicit and the president Barak Obama saying that: “ Let me be clear: I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but rather as an affirmation of American leadership on behalf of inspirations held by people in all nations.”[4]

This Obama’s appraisal is very true and correct which all of us ought to understand such as, not differently at all.

Related to surprising and importance of the Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize awarded by Norwegian Committee, has declared to NBC and senior White House adviser David Axelrod who said:” It’s an honor. It’s nothing anyone expected. It’s nothing the president sought. He is less interested in individual honors – and this certainly is one – than pursing the causes cited by Nobel Committee. I think it’s an affirmation that the things he’s been working on for nine months and before are important the president’s priorities as rebuilding international relations, dealing with nuclear proliferation and climate change. These are the causes to which he is devoted and to which the world wants to devoted.”[5]

Is “Unipolar Momentum” coming to the end?

According to some prominent international political relations and international law and diplomacy scholars the ‘Unipolar Momentum” of the George Bush’s New World Order (1990) is coming to the end, as a result of beginning of the new stage of the international multilateral diplomacy and institutions on accord with United Nations and international law principles and values.

But that doesn’t mean that the United States should give up of its reputation as a world model and leader of freedom, democracy, morality, justice, dignity and peace which are our the greatest resources and basic universal values accepted by the majority of the international community.

The new stage of the Obama’s multilateral diplomacy should understand and treat reasonably and objectively that means a new realism and pragmatism of the United States diplomacy which will bring back on track protection and promotion of the fundamental national interest and foreign policy.

Thank to the United States president Obama and his prominent political, diplomatic, military, economic, juristic and social staff not only America, but all of the world have a good opportunity to move ahead in achieving of their prosperity goals and visions for the better, wealthy, happy, safe, healthy and peaceful life.

In this context of the significance of Obama’s wining the Nobel Peace Prize, declared and the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, saying that :” The Nobel Committees decision to reward Obama’s multilateral approach to the world is great news. President Obama embodies the new spirit of dialogue and engagement on the world’s biggest problems such as climate change, nuclear disarmament, and a wide rang of peace and security challenges.”[6]

There’s no reason and place why and for what we need to be confusion and surprised in disappointing sense with wining Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize awarded by Norwegian Nobel Committee when president Obama during these nine months “He has shown an unshakeable commitment to diplomacy, mutual respect and dialogue as the best means of resolving conflicts.” [7]

Notwithstanding how some the European and the world political and diplomatic circles have been evaluated and understood Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize rewarded by Nobel Committee on 9 October, 2009, there’s no doubt that is with the great importance for the United States and for all of the world because of the fact that correspond with Obama’s “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples, particularly his work to rid the world of nuclear weapons.”[8]

According to these very important reasons and motives which are in interest of the world’s mutual cooperation, security, development, stability and peace, the United States president Barak Obama, proudly said: “ That is why I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the common challenges of the 21st century.”[9]
As mentioned above Obama was laureate with Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian Nobel Committee not “For nothing”[10] as a somebody was driven to very wrong conclusion, but for working hard and warily with American government on support peace and cooperation between peoples all of the world.
I consider that, instead of the equivocal and imbalance question that the United States president Barak Obama was laureate by Nobel Committee only as “A Nobel for nothing. The prize should go to somebody who deserves it.), as cited in the Editorial of the Washington Times, on October 10, 2009” , we have to be much more honest, principled and realistic, and make this question: Well, If not the current the United States president Obama and his official respective state staff didn’t deserve this Nobel Peace Prize, then who would be somebody else to deserve that? Certainly not the United States ex-president George W. Bush? Right question is for what? For two his presidential terms of the eight years he didn’t convince the Nobel Committee members that his political doctrine and practice were enough helpful and realistic in solving of the international hot and very dangerous problems all of the world.

Another question is: why right now we are opposing so hard Obama’ s a new political course in changing reforms in economy, health care, employment, and foreign policy? When, we have voted him to make changes in order to improve previous mistakes of the George W. Bush’s politics during his two presidential terms (2001-2009).

As long as we have been for political and economic changes etc., and right now suppose to be for that (not to make a break, and break up our promise against necessary changes), and support Obama’s respective reforms for our commonweal today and in the future.

Today, world needs more realism and multilateral dialogue

The write and acceptable way to make profound positive changes in favor of peace and mutual cooperation is the realism and maintain of the multilateral dialogue between all of the nations around the world.

Even if, we know that politics is not love, but interest between people, we need to be pragmatic and far-seeing to realize our national priorities objectives and interest in making more allies in and abroad. But this vision could be articulate only if we take in consideration the United States traditional, realistic, principled and democratic values be in politics or diplomacy etc.

The Obama’s peaceful doctrine, could be understand in right manner only if we take into account those above mentioned American values realistically and pragmatically such did before American well-known diplomat George Kennan with his peace-master works and books.

Referring to him, author Bill Richardson (Govrnor of New Mexico, who was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination during Ombama’s electoral compaign for the president last ) come to conclusion that :” In the weak of the Bush administration’s failed experiment with unilateralism, the United States needs once again to construct a foreign policy that is based on reality and loyal to American values. Such s policy must address the challenges of our time with effective actions rather than naive hopes. And it must unit us because it is inspired by the ideals of our nation rather than by the ideology of a president. If America is to lead again, we need to remember our history and to rebuild our overextended military revive our alliances, and restore our reputation as a nation that respects international law, humanitarian rights, and civil liberties. We must reject both isolationist fantasies of retreat from global engagement and neoconservative fantasies of transforming other countries through the unilateral application of American military power. Our policy must go beyond the balance of power realism of the last century. In this view interdependent world we need a New Realism-one driven by an understanding that to defend our national interests, we must move than ever, find common ground with others, so that we can lead them toward our common purposes.”[11]

Simply, without any speculation these Bill Richard’s views and observations about a New American Realism, i.e. the right foreign policy is that which able to make more proper friends and allies than more enemies and going on confrontation with all of the world’s nations. That’s wrong and failure foreign policy. Because of that American people-United States doesn’t need, and deserve such wrong isolated foreign policy and diplomacy, but multilateral, cooperative and peaceful one.

On the contrary, the United States foreign policy and diplomacy under Obama’s leadership needs necessary modification in spirit of the “ Strategic realism focuses centrally on foreign policy decision-making when states leaders confront basic diplomatic and military issues they are obliged to think strategically – i.e. instrumentally-if they want to be successful.”[12]
